SRRS Round 1 RockLife Recap

3-13-18  SRRS Round 1 RockLife Recap

The National Rock Racing Association  made its way to Windrock Park in Tennessee this past weekend for Round 1 of the SRRS points series.   On hand was one of the larger and most competitive UTV fields on record.  The course consisted of a short, technical woods course leading up to a very steep hill and then back into the woods to finish.  The top 10 all finished within 10 seconds.  There was no saving until the next round this time.  It was an all out sprint to the finish.

RockLife drivers Travis Skelton, Jamie Coldiron, Stacy Wilhoit, Gilbert Hollingsworth, Clint Garrison and Kyle Lowery all made the course look easy finishing in the top 16 out of the 38 entries.

Kyle Lowery in the Dirt Dobber and Clint Garrison in Heavy Pedal, both redeemed themselves after subpar runs in Texas. Smooth runs with little mistakes allowed them to finish 16th and 14th respectively.

Gilbert Hollingsworth (Outlaw) battled mechanical issues once again. He managed to set a great time of  36.68 to finish 11th.

Jamie Coldiron (8th)and Stacy Wilhoit (4th) both posted solid finishes and  brought the buggies back home in one piece. The Paycheck driver performed great against all the Turbo powered machines for the third week in a  row while Stacy seems to have the bugs worked out on the brand new  Instigator buggy and is making a hard charge to the front.

Taking second overall and top finisher for team RockLife was Travis Skelton in his 427 Gilberts Offroad Chassis.  Travis only missed the top spot on the podium by 1.22 seconds.  The new buggy is working flawlessly and allowing for a great showing each and every week.   This is Travis's 4th Straight podium.
